How do I donate books, photographs or other materials to the Library's Special Collections?

The Tacoma Public Library is always interested in adding to our collection of material related to the history of Tacoma, the Puget Sound region and Washington State. If you have a book, photograph or document (or really anything else) that is part of Tacoma or Washington State history, please consider a donation to the Tacoma Public Library.

Over the years the Library has received donations of architectural drawings of mid-century Tacoma homes and buildings, personal family photography albums dating back to 1912, campaign literature from the 1940s and a wonderful leather-bound edition of Metsker maps. These are just a few of the treasures we’ve received from our community.

If you are interested in making a donation of material to the Library's Special Collections please do not hesitate to telephone Library staff at (253) 292-2001  Ext 1605. All donations are tax-deductible.
