Introduction to Geocaching
Geocaching is a high-tech, outdoor scavenger hunt that's become a worldwide craze. The Washington State Geocaching Association will give a brief presentation on how to get started, and then we'll head outdoors to find some caches near the library. There will be a limited supply of GPS units available, but please bring your own device and/or smart phone if you have one. Ages 11 to 19. Registration Required.

The Hunger Games Party

How to follow your intuition
Ways to reduce the risk of being victimized with strategies for staying safe
How to set boundaries and convey strong body language

Zombie Monster Mash: All Ages DubStep Concert

PWN the Night this summer with Video Gaming Tournaments!

About StoryLab:
We all have stories to tell. StoryLab provides teens with the digital tools and resources to help them create and share their stories. Located on the first floor of the downtown Main Library, StoryLab features five iMacs and three MacBook Pros with a variety of beginning and professional level software. What can you do at StoryLab? Two Day Filmmaking Workshop

In this two-day intensive workshop taught by filmmaker Jason Ganwich, you will write a script, shoot a video, and edit your footage in Final Cut Pro X. You'll learn basic editing, title creation, how to add music & sound effects, transitions, and how to export your film. Lunch Provided. Ages 13 to 20. Registration Required. Sampling Workshop

Learn how to take a sound - any sound imaginable - and create custom beats using Logic Pro's EXS-24 digital sampler. Sampling technology lies at the core of rap, dub step, techno and today's pop music. The workshop will consist of teams of 3 - 4 students each, working together to select, edit and process sounds from sound effect libraries in order to build their own virtual drum kit. Photographer's Toolbox: Tips and Tools for Student Photographers (Two Day Workshop)

Professional photographer Jesse Michener will demonstrate photography basics, including the use of lines, color, light, shadow, contrast, and texture to create eye-catching photographs. Teens will explore and photograph neighborhood locations downtown. During the second day, teens will learn how to use photo-editing software to tweak their photos and will leave with a printed copy.
